REDWOOD CITY – The Cañada College women's soccer team extended its unbeaten streak to six games thanks to a 3-0 win over visiting West Valley College in both teams' Coast Conference opener on Tuesday.
Colts' goalkeeper Elisabeth Bray totaled 5 saves to help post the squads' sixth shutout of the season. During the six-game streak, she's allowed just three goals while the Cañada offense has scored 14 times.
On Tuesday, the Colts got a first-half goal from Justine Chetcuti in the 12th minute while Ryann Leyte-Vidal (63rd) and Aeshia Patague (75th) tallied goals to close out the win. Ruby Rodrigues was credited with a pair of assists and Maeve Lynch assisted on Chetcuti's goal.
Cañada moved to 6-2-2 overall and 1-0 in Coast Conference play. The Colts are back in action on Friday (Oct. 3) when they travel to Cabrillo College for a 6:30 p.m. conference game.
