Abigail Bautista
Bio
Abigail Bautista is the Colts' head coach for the inaugural 2026 season. She spent 25 seasons at Moreau Catholic High School, leading the Mariners to two NCS Division II Championships and coaching numerous players to individual championships. In addition to their success on the court, the Mariners earned 10 Scholastic banners during that 25-year run.

A four-year letterwinner at CSU Hayward in Division II tennis, Abi concurrently led the CSU Club Badminton Team to two National Intercollegiate (Club) tournament appearances and multiple California Intercollegiate tournaments.
Abi coached an eight-player team through the 2005 Junior Nationals in badminton, winning 10 medals. Following that experience, she began a seven-year tenure working with USA Badminton in Coaching Education and Development. During this time, she collaborated with Mohan Subramaniam on numerous USA Badminton coaching projects, helping to develop certification coursework and assisting with the USA National Team, USA Junior National Team, and USA Para Badminton Team. She also had the privilege of serving as Director (2017) and Co-Director (2016) of the BWF YONEX US Open in Anaheim and Los Angeles.

In addition to coaching at Moreau Catholic, Abi served as a four-year adjunct faculty instructor in Psychology at CSU Hayward, one year as Director of Clinical Education for Carrington College’s Physical Therapist Assistant program, four years as a Research Scientist at NASA Ames Research Center, and 16 years as a Physical Therapist Assistant.

A graduate of CSU Hayward, Abi earned her bachelor’s degree in 1991 and her master’s degree in 1994. She later completed graduate research in the Kinesiology Department at Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada.
